We have a
lot of things going at Chapter 182. The TriMotor arrives at West Memphis
on Sept 7th or 8th and gives the media and sponsor rides Thursday
morning. The revenue rides begin Thursday afternoon at 2:00PM and
continue through Sunday. We need 8 volunteers per day to staff the
event, 4 in the morning from 8:00AM until noon, and 4 in the afternooon.
We will be helping sell tickets and loading and off loading passengers.
The work is not difficult and we can get rides for volunteers as empty
seats are available. Cooperation from the West Memphis Airport and EAA
staff has been fantastic. The event is posted everywhere I can find a
place. There will be ads and articles in local papers including the
Commercial Appeal, and we are working onTV coverage. I will have posters
to pass out at the meeting. Plan to come out and help.
Andrew Sego
is working with a Scout troop on a Young Eagles event to be held in
conjunction with the October meeting at M01. We will need as many
planes as possible there.
Last, but
not least, we are hosting the B17 at Olive Branch November 5th, 6th &
7th. If anyone knows of veteran B17 crew members, please get their
information to me.
As I
already said, we have a lot going on in our Chapter.
See you at
the meeting. Saturday AM breakfast as usual.
Fly safe,
Dwight
